Since July 2, 1643, a monastic community belonging to the family of Capuchin Clarisse Nuns has been present in Città di Castello, which took the name of Capuchin Monastery “S. Veronica Giuliani”, after the canonization of Orsola Giuliani, who entered the Monastery in 1677, at the age of seventeen, receiving the name of Veronica.
Sister Veronica, beatified in 1804 and proclaimed a Saint by Pope Gregory XVI in 1839, dedicated her entire existence, which ended on 9 July 1727, to the risen Christ, to the One who rose to the cross out of love and is the heart of the Christian faith, who asks to be welcomed, listened to, loved with a vital, personal and spousal love, a God-Love who overwhelms, who changes, who transforms people and their behavior so that they realize the personal plan that he has for each one.
